When baking, follow directions. When cooking, go by your own taste. ~Laiko Bahrs
Inspired by some pretty pink cookies we decided it would make a nice gift for our cousins to give them some giraffe cookies.
Of course, it worked beautifully. The orange flavoured M&M's gave a delicious flavour to these cookies which Ess has dubbed Giraffe Cookies.
They made a lovely gift with the recipients exclaiming, "Wow, what a great idea!" They fit my bill of what constitutes a great gift - they encourage creativity and productivity in children, it is not plastic or licensed or made on the production line. It is unique and hopefully a memorable gift for our cousins.
I am sure I'll be using this idea again for gifts throughout the year. Just need to find enough jars exactly the right size.
You are always an inspiration, Cee. This is yet another of your wonderful ideas and creations! I'd ask for the recipe, except sugar and I are not fond of each other! :-(
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun idea, looking great!
ReplyDeleteHope you have had a loevely weekend,
Nina
Thankyou ladies. HS Mama you'll find a sugar free recipe for some Simple Crunchy Cookies in my sidebar. Also Ess created her own recipe today and I was curious to note that it did not have any sugar in it - apart from a little dark choc and maple syrup. Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteWe did enjoy our weekend - a rollerskating party was enjoyed by all. :)

I do not think orange flavored m&m's are available here. I have never seen them anyway.
ReplyDeleteThey do look good. I have to bake a couple of batches of cookies for a blood drive this weekend that is being held in memory of a young man in our community who was murdered just before Christmas.
You might be right Gramma. I think that Jaffa is quite an Aussie flavour - choc/orange. Read about it here:
